Junior Achievement

Today the students had their first Junior Achievement lesson.  A parent volunteer is going to be teaching the unit, Our City, to the students throughout this week.  They will be learning about city zoning, how newspapers are divided, how to read and understand a blueprint, and help in the creation of "Anthesville."

Be sure to ask your child every night to share with you what they have learned about during Junior Achievement with Mrs. Cleary.

Our next lesson will be taught on Wednesday.

Crestwood Park- Arbor Day Celebration!

Today our class was able to help two members of the Crestwood Parks department plant trees on the Crestwood Park grounds!  The trees are located on the edge of the walking trail near the upper parking lot.  You will see 3 trees in a row, ours are the first and last.  The first tree is a Robinson Crabtree and the last one is a Plum tree.   When you have time, please ask your child about the experience and maybe even take a visit to the park to view their work in person.  This event is an annual Arbor Day celebration the students in my room have the honor of participating in each year.  Keep an eye out on the Crestwood Parks' department website to see if new pictures are added.  I will try to post some pictures on the Moodle as well.

Here is a link to the site and a picture from last year.
